If you were second in a writing competition, would you be tempted to jump for joy and get better results next time? Or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to reconnect?
In life, you are always full of choices. You can choose to live a self-defeating life with a pessimistic outlook, or you can take the path of the optimists and decide to live a challenging and fulfilling life.
So why feed the optimistic point of view? Why now?

An optimistic attitude is associated with a positive attitude and good mood; To academic, athletic, military, professional, and political success; To popularity; For good health and longevity and freedom from trauma.
On the other hand, the rate of depression and pessimism has never increased. It affects middle-aged adults in the same way that it attacks young people. The median age of onset has increased from 30 to 15 years. It is no longer a disorder of middle-aged housewives but a disorder of adolescence.

Here’s how optimists work and research why it pays to be optimistic:
Optimists expect the best
The defining trait of pessimists is that they tend to believe in bad events that last a long time and cripple everything they do.
The truth is that optimists are facing the only brutal hit in this world. What changes is the way they explain their misfortune – the opposite way. They tend to believe that defeat is a temporary setback, the reasons for which limit to this one case.
Optimists tend to focus and plan on the ‘problem’ at hand. They use ‘positive reinterpretation. In other words, they redefine a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow. Such people are tired of bad situations and try hard to realize that it is a challenge.

They will not say, “Things will never be good,” “If I fail once, it will happen again,” and “If I experience misfortune in one part of my life, it will happen in my whole life.”
Positive expectations of optimists predict better reactions to new environments, emergencies, and unexpected turns of events. If they fall, they will rise. They see opportunities instead of obstacles.
People respond positively to optimism.

Optimists are active and do not depend on others for their happiness. They do not need to control or manipulate people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimism about the world can be contagious and can influence those around a reaction.
Optimism is a socially endearing trait in all communities. Those who share optimism are generally accepted, and those who spread darkness, phobia, and insanity treat unfavourably.
In life, these people often win elections; Get the most friendly vote, and get advice.
When the journey is difficult, the optimists are tough
Optimists generally maintain a high level of self-well-being during times of low stress. In contrast, pessimists are more likely to respond to stressful events by denying that they exist or by refraining from dealing with problems. Pessimists are more likely to give up trying when they are in trouble.
They make a relentless effort. People do not give up easily; they are also known for their patience. They are taking a step towards that goal or a vague dream.
Optimists are healthier and live longer.
Medical research has justified simply measuring the body’s ability to fight disease with simple inspirations and a positive outlook.
The health of the optimists is excellent. They age well and are much freer from the ordinary physical ailments of middle age. They live longer than those who fall victim to negative thoughts.
So why not be an optimist today? Think positively for a more fulfilling life.
Why not expect success in all your endeavours? Why not resist? Like everyone else, you are bound to be in a low position but do not stay there. Get out of the mud and improve your chances of getting on the right track. Why not take off their dark glasses and encourage others to see life on the bright side?
